(Sturgeon Bay, WI) February 8, 2018- We head into year number 2 under the PKS3 management group at the Hill Raceway. So before the season starts on Friday, May 18 at 7:00pm let’s break down each division.
We’ll start with the Stock Cars where Dave “The Bulldozer” Bouche has stifled the competition with 5 straight titles. Bouche will return to purse the crown but a vacation later in the season may leave the door wide open. Jamie Suchocki, Scott Reinhardt, Tony Bouche and Billy LeMieux were Dave’s closest competitors in 2018 and look to be a threat to challenge the top spot. Add in drivers like Karly Stadler who has commitment to racing fulltime. Top guns such as Troy Muench, Shawn Havel, Bret Wenzel and Luke Lemmens may race on a limited schedule but are always a threat to win.
In Sport Mod competition Cody Rass and Craig Dorner will try to duplicate they’re 2017 season. Rass will be looking for a 3-peat, while Dorner looks to make it 2 in a row. Don’t count out veteran racers like Tom Stark, Bernie Reinhardt and Jarred VanLaanen. Former Modified champ George Henkel makes his return to racing. Henkel purchased a used chassis and will compete for the title in 2018.
Street Stock champion Dave “the Hammer” DeGrave will return to defend his championship. He’ll have Ford Malvitz, Nikki Carter and Travis Lumaye to contend with. Watch for drivers like 141 champion Mike Carter, Bill Hayes and John Gregorich as they could give DeGrave a run for his money.
DJ Jorgenson captured his first ever title in the Baby Bombers in 2017. He’ll have a hard time holding off 3-time Four-Cylinder champion Tony Everard. Fresh off the Luxemburg Speedway title Nick Everard will be one to watch as well. Throw in racers like Scott Schlafke, Kevin Rabe and Tory Peterson and this title is up for grabs.
